The department is delighted to announce that Dr. Rebecca Sears is our newest Lecturer and will be with us in 2018-19. Dr. Sears holds a PhD from the University of Michigan, and her research interests include ancient music, papyrology, Latin poetry, particularly Ovid’s Metamorphoses, and ancient magic. She has previously taught at Tulane University and Wake Forest University. She is also a violinist who has performed in benefit concerts throughout New England. At Wash U, Dr. Sears will be teaching Beginning Greek, Latin 3171, and other courses in the languages and Classics.
