The Department of Classics extends its warmest thanks to John and Penelope Biggs. The John and Penelope Biggs Residency in Classics has brought leading classical scholars to the Washington University in St. Louis campus for a week of lectures and discussions each spring since 1990. The Biggses plan to fund the residency each year as long as one of them survives, and they have now taken measures to ensure that the residency will continue in perpetuity.
