Classics Department to be Co-sponsor for Annual Powwow

The Department of Classics is proud to be a co-sponsor of Washington University’s 33^rd Annual Powwow, sponsored by the Kathryn M. Buder Center for American Indian Studies, to be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024. In co-sponsoring, the department notes not only its strong support for Native American peoples and cultures, but also the interconnections between those peoples and cultures and the study of ancient Greece and Rome, as has been observed by Associate Professor of Classics Tom Keeline in his work on the Latin compositions of a Native American student at Harvard in the 18^th century.
